Not all transitions start from the classic poses like Bird, Throne, or Shoulderstand. Here, you’ll find transitions that begin from other positions — unique, playful, or less typical bases. They might not be harder, just different, offering new ways to move and flow. Explore, experiment, and expand your acro vocabulary!
Transitions from Side Stars
Transitions from Side Stars are incredibly diverse, as there are four different types of Side Stars. Within these, variations depend on whether the flyer is holding the base’s hand or foot — and even the type of grip can change depending on the movement. Once you start exploring Side Star transitions, you’ll unlock a whole new world of washing machines and well-known flows! As always, strong connection, clear communication, and staying tuned into each other are key. These transitions might not work perfectly on the first try, so patience and listening to each other make all the difference.

TIC TOCs
This category includes transitions that connect the two sides of asymmetrical poses.
Originally, this category included only transitions between side stars – hence the name tic-tocs. But there are many other asymmetrical poses where we can flow from one side to the other and back again, often using an additional pose in between.
These transitions do not lead from one distinct pose to another, but rather start in a pose and return to the same pose, mirrored on the opposite side. This makes it possible to repeat the movement continuously, swaying from side to side like the pendulum of a metronome.
