This is a very interesting transition! There are two possible directions to move out of side star. Looking at the flyer’s perspective: in the first version, they move forward—pulling their legs up in front, turning toward the base’s free leg, and wrapping from that side. In the second version, they move backward and wrap their legs from the opposite direction. In this case, the flyer pushes up by leaning on the base’s arm. Both variations are worth exploring and practicing!
When the flyer moves forward:
Spider Roll: They lift their legs in front of them, turn toward the base’s free leg, and wrap from that side. It’s a smooth, forward-flowing transition that requires good timing and core control. With hand-to-hand grip

Icing on the cake: In this variation, there’s no hand-to-hand grip—the base holds the flyer’s foot instead.
Here, they only go as far as one-legged throne, and the sequence continues differently from there…
But they could just as well land in full throne if they wanted to.
Feel the flow
When the flyer moves backward:
Dust Buster: The flyer crosses over to grab the base’s hand and continues rotating with their upper body. This allows the base’s foot to come underneath and support the flyer from behind, under the sitting bone. Once the flyer feels the base’s foot, they shift weight onto it, wrap their legs, and sit.
