From Throne to High flying whale (step)

273

From the throne, the base takes one of his legs out and the flyer places her shoulder blade on it, they assume the high flying whale pose. Base can help the flyer in this way: he touches her back with his toe, then slowly slides his leg up to the desired position. This gives the flyer security, the flyer does not have the feeling that she is leaning back into nothing. This is a beginner transition, you must first give this support to the flyer.

The base takes out one leg and takes it behind the flyer’s back. Base lowers the flyer, bends the holder’s leg. Flyer starts to lean back, places her scapula on the foot of the base. Base regrips from sole to ankle and they assume the whale pose.  Daniel Scott

The base can make the flyer’s work easier by touching the toe of the flyer’s back when he steps back with his foot, so that the flyer feels safe. Slowly slide it up to the final position, where the flyer puts her body weight on it.
