Straddle throne

781

The classic throne position is followed by the straddle throne pose. Here, the sole of the base is not under the buttock of the flyer, but under her thigh. The flyer opens a wide spread, and the sole of the base is perpendicular, or at least close to perpendicular, with the flyer’s thigh. The flyer locks the base’s leg from the inside with her legs. This pose can be reached from the classic throne pose and from the ground. Check out the videos!

Tutorial video with Super Dave
The flyer steps up from the ground into the pose by locking one foot onto the base’s leg and sliding up into the pose with the help of hands. The other method is to place both feet of the base on the inner line of the flyer’s thigh, and with (or without) hand support, the flyer rolls up into the straddle throne with a small movement.
