This AcroYoga transition moves from One-Legged Back Bird into Monolimb and then Reverse Star. The base begins by rotating the flyer, bringing her upper body into position for the next connection.
The flyer then places the base’s foot against her shoulder and gradually transfers her weight onto it. From here, she tips upward into the inverted position, using either a hand connection with the base or holding onto his leg for support.
As the rotation continues, the flyer brings her body into a vertical line and arrives in Monolimb, balanced on a single point of support at the shoulder.
In this version, the flyer holds the base’s leg instead of his hand, moving through a true Monolimb position without the additional hand support.
Here, the base holds the flyer’s hand as she rises into Reverse Star, providing extra support and stability during the transition.
While learning the transition, the base can bring in his second foot to support the flyer’s other shoulder, temporarily turning the position into a full Reverse Star. This provides additional stability while you become familiar with the movement. As your control and confidence improve, you can gradually work toward finishing directly in Monolimb.
