Freedom is a dynamic washing machine that features trapdoor, back bird, side star, and reverse bird. In the back bird position, there’s an extra step: the base steps next to the incoming foot and transitions into side star on that foot. Without this adjustment, the flow would only rotate in one direction — this step allows for the direction change.
A unique element of this sequence is that the hand-to-hand grip remains unbroken throughout — the flyers and base stay connected the whole time.
Important: Only initiate the trapdoor when the flyer is fully aligned above the base and lifts their chest with control. This ensures a clean and beautiful execution.
It’s not a very well-known sequence — but it’s one of my personal favorites. 😊
