From Reverse Bird to Back Bird

264

This is a special transition, it has its own name: Trap door

Starting from a reverse bird, the flyer passes one hand between the legs of the base. The base turns the foot that is outside the hands with the toes inward. He takes the other leg, which is between the two hands, from under the flyer’s hip and away from him. The flyer starts to lean forward by bringing her free leg up and leaning on the base sole with the other leg. Base dodges the flyer’s head with his free leg and connects his toe to the flyer’s sacrum. Flyer turns on the foot of the base, steps next to it with the other foot, the flyer arrives in back bird.

Similar Transition

This transition is similar to the Reverse Bird to Back Bird transition, in that the flyer also rotates forward around one of the base’s feet as a pivot, and lands in Back Bird on the other foot.
Notice the similarity and try practicing both versions—it’s a fun way to explore movement and deepen your flow vocabulary!
