Reverse Bird

599

The flyer’s upper body turns towards the ground, her head is on the opposite side of the base’s head. If we do it without hands, the base can find balance by keeping his legs vertical and its feet horizontal. It’s not spiky at all.
If they hold hands, it is only possible if the base tilts his extended leg towards him. If you don’t do this, the two hands may not touch. It often happens that the flyer leans forward to reach the base’s hand, but this is not correct, see picture 4.

Correct pose with hands
They cannot reach hands because of the base's legs are not in the correct position
Reverse bird on tiptoe Flyer: Jurák Zsuzsi, base: Csikós Illés
An incorrect reverse bird pose: the flyer's body is not straight, bending down to reach the base's hand. Always keep the pose straight!

Tutorial video how to enter reverse bird. Acro Nerds

An exciting way to enter the reverse bird pose. The process continues in this video all the way to foot-to-hand, but the pose could also be stopped in the reverse bird position.

The flyer lies on the ground with their legs vertical, while the base stands and holds the flyer’s feet. As the base sits down and rolls onto the floor, they place their feet on the flyer’s hips and lift them into the reverse bird pose.

When in Doubt, Try This First!
