Floating Paschi

420

Base balances the flyer by the upper arm of the flyer. Flyer is in a Paschi pose.

I found quite a few videos that thoroughly demonstrate and explain how to correctly enter and hold the pose. It’s worth studying these before you start practicing. We always begin by entering the pose from Straddle Bat, as it’s the easiest option. However, we also showcase other variations for more experienced acroyogis. These are also worth watching and trying out.

They transition into Paschi pose from Bat pose. The tutorial video explains the process, with captions to support understanding. Landing towards the base’s head.

SuperDave’s tutorial video, where he demonstrates how to get into the pose and also how to roll down to the ground from the paschi pose.

This is also a tutorial video, where they show how the flyer can prepare on the ground for holding the paschi pose even without the base. The video demonstrates three different ways to come down from the paschi pose: towards the base’s head, into back bird, and rolling down into a seated position.

Here, the pose is entered from Back Bird. The flyer begins by lifting their legs over their head, continuing until they can reach their feet and assume the Paschi pose. The base supports the flyer with their feet throughout the movement, only removing them at the last moment when the flyer is balanced.

Here, the Paschi pose is also entered from Bat, with a smooth and continuous execution.

This video is worth watching for the two different mounts and dismounts. First, they enter the Paschi pose from the ground and roll down into a tuck sit. Then, they roll up into Paschi pose again and dismount into Back Bird by first opening the triangle and extending into a candle position while the base holds the flyer’s upper arms.

Similar pose

I included this pose as a related pose because the “bobsleigh” (vagy magyarul csigabiga) roll-up is very similar. With this backflip roll-up, you can also reach the back shoulder stand and the floating paschi pose. Try both of them out!
