This is an advanced and highly challenging AcroYoga transition from Straight-Leg Throne to Foot-to-Foot. The flyer maintains a straight, engaged body throughout the movement while the base initiates a controlled pop, lifting her from the Throne and bringing his feet precisely underneath hers to catch her in Foot-to-Foot.
When performed well, the transition can look almost effortless—just one smooth movement from one position to the next. In reality, it requires excellent timing, accuracy, body tension, and trust between both partners. The placement of the base’s feet needs to be extremely precise for a controlled and secure catch.
Because the flyer is released and caught at considerable height, this transition should be approached as an advanced skill. Practice with experienced spotting and appropriate crash mats, especially while developing the timing and consistency of the catch.
