From Reverse Shoulderstand to Straddle bat

496

This transition is very simple: the base steps in toward the flyer’s thighs, effectively “placing” the flyer into the bat pose. After that, the flyer’s shoulders can be released.

A snippet from Super Dave’s tutorial video, showing how simple the movement is. Here, the transition starts from a forearm-grip shoulderstand

In this video, however, the flyer is holding the base’s ankles. This makes it easier for the flyer, as they can simply guide the base’s feet into the correct position.  Acrobility

Used poses

There are two types of Reverse Shoulderstand: in one, the flyer holds the base’s ankles, and in the other, they hold the base’s forearms. The transition is so simple that I didn’t list it separately, so both starting poses are included on this page.
