This pose is typically a transitional one; it is not usually held on its own but rather passed through between two poses. It can be entered from the ground or from Star pose, and we will demonstrate both. Since we don’t pause in this position, performing it in a perfectly controlled manner can be challenging. However, the main goal is not strict form but maintaining a smooth, continuous flow.
This image also shows the same pose, just at a different moment in the movement sequence. The flyer’s one knee is on the base’s foot, while the other leg is free, either extended or bent. The base and flyer hold each other’s hands with a strong grip, arms extended. This demonstrates how much range this pose can have within its movement.
