Foot-to-Knee is a simple and accessible AcroYoga position in which the base keeps his feet on the ground with his knees raised, while the flyer stands on the base’s knees.
The pose can be performed in different ways. The flyer may stand upright without using the hands, or fold forward and connect hands with the base. In the second variation, their arms extend in one continuous line, creating a shape somewhat reminiscent of Downward-Facing Dog.
Foot-to-Knee looks similar to Foot-to-Shin, where the flyer stands on the base’s shins close to the knees. The important difference is the base’s position: in Foot-to-Shin, the base’s feet are lifted off the ground, while in Foot-to-Knee they remain firmly planted on the floor. This additional contact with the ground makes Foot-to-Knee a much more stable position.
Although Foot-to-Knee can be held as a pose on its own, it is most often used as a transitional position, providing a simple and stable connection between other poses and movements.
This video shows the flyer stepping onto the base’s knees and establishing the hand connection.
