Whirly Gig is one of the best-known throne rotation washing machines.
Some people refer to it as Carousel, but essentially they are the same – the only difference is that Whirly Gig includes a hand connection for support, while Carousel is done hands-free.
That said, it’s not uncommon to see videos where even the hands-free version is still called Whirlygig.
But that doesn’t really matter – whether with hands or without, it’s a joy to practice and a joy to spin once it starts to flow.

The flyer reaches one hand across to the base, unhooks one leg, and re-hooks it on the other side to continue the rotation.

Whirly Gig with hands. In this variation, it’s the base’s legs that are crossed, not the flyer’s.
