From Cake with Candle to Inside Star

358

This is a dynamic transition – in most washing machines, the side star is not held or clearly presented, but rather appears as a transitional pose, with the flyer already moving on toward the next position.
Check out the linked videos to see how this movement continues in different directions depending on the sequence.

In this video, the Cake with Candle pose is held with good control (which isn’t always the case in other videos), and the transition into side star is also clearly shown.

Feel the flow

In the Cake with Candle pose, the “candle” refers to the extended leg standing tall on top of the “cake.”
However, not everyone lifts the leg high into the air—and that’s totally fine. The pose still works just as well. The key part of the transition is that the flyer rotates their extended free leg onto the base’s foot, landing in a side star.
