There are two ways to transition from Table to Throne: with a step or with a pop.
It’s best to first learn the beginner-friendly step version. Once that feels solid, you can try the pop variation. We illustrate both options here.

Videos From Table pose to Throne with STEP
The video shows that here the base bends his leg when the flyer starts to sit up. This makes it easier for the flyer to sit up.

From Table pose to Throne with POP
This AcroYoga transition uses a gentle pop to help the flyer rise into Throne Pose. The base initiates the movement by bending and then extending the legs, creating just enough lift for the flyer. At the same time, the base places both feet beneath the flyer’s sitting bones to provide stable support.
As the flyer lands on the base’s feet, the base slightly bends the legs to absorb the impact and create a softer, more comfortable landing. Once the flyer is balanced in Throne Pose, the base gradually straightens the legs to establish the final position.
It’s a smooth move that feels like landing on clouds – strong, stable, and kind.
