The transition between the two poses goes through a side star. From bird, they first move into a reverse inside side star, then the base shifts the flyer’s hips onto the other foot. This creates a regular inside side star, from which the flyer can rotate into a straddle bat pose.
The transition might be a bit tricky at first because the other foot needs to step onto nearly the same spot on the flyer’s hips. The key is to lift one foot while simultaneously placing the other in position. With some practice, this movement can be mastered.
Cross hand, then side star. The base steps onto the flyer’s hip with the other foot, then the flyer lowers her upper body, and the base steps onto the flyer’s other hip with the other foot, and they assume the bat position. Acrodicted
