The transition begins in a Reverse Star. The flyer releases the base’s foot and establishes a hand-to-hand connection, while the base initiates the rotation.
As the flyer turns, the base continues the movement until the foot closest to him can rotate no farther. At this point, he removes that foot from beneath the flyer’s shoulder and places it back in a toes-out position. He then removes his second foot from under the flyer’s shoulder, completing the transition into a one-foot-supported Goofy Star.
Throughout the entire movement, the flyer’s primary task is simply to maintain a strong, engaged body and remain balanced on the base’s supporting foot. The base controls the rotation, the foot placement, and the timing of the transition, while the flyer focuses on stability and body tension.
