From Shin-2-Foot to Bird : Step and pop
There are different ways to transition from one pose to another, depending on your level of experience.
Beginners can use a step-in transition, intermediate practitioners might try a pop, and advanced flyers can go through hand-to-hand.
Let’s take a look at all three options so everyone can choose the one that suits them best.
The flyer gives their hands to the base, stretches both legs back, and they move into a plank position. Then the base steps in toward the flyer’s hips.

Start with the flyer holding the base’s hands — both partners keep their arms vertical and engaged.
The base gives a small push and uses their legs to pop the flyer into the air.
Throughout the transition, the hands stay in constant contact, giving the flyer stable support even while airborne.
The flyer extends their legs in the air and returns smoothly into bird pose, using the connected hands for balance and control.
The base ensures a soft landing by bending their legs as the flyer comes down.
This transition is part of a beautiful flow, adding grace and connection to the sequence.
