This transition connects two fundamental poses and is an important part of beginner practices. There are several ways to move from bird to shin-to-foot — it’s worth trying them all.
The partners maintain hand-to-hand contact throughout the movement, with their arms held vertically. The flyer steps one knee at a time onto the base’s feet, first with one leg, then the other.
Here we can see another way to transition from bird to shin-2-foot. First, the base steps onto the flyer’s shins, and only after that does the flyer bend their knees and lift up into the shin-2-foot pose. The movement is also shown in reverse.
