Waterfall – Transition from Reverse Straddle Throne

424

The Waterfall is a popular move for beginners—I remember doing it in my first week! The starting pose is the reverse straddle throne, and most often, we transition into the position shown in the picture. The flyer keeps their legs hooked, leans back, and the base supports the flyer’s shoulders. From here, there are multiple options to continue: back bird, straddle bat, or reverse shoulderstand. We demonstrate each of these separately, but I feel that the Waterfall itself deserves its own dedicated page!

Here, the flyer tilts their hips and simply lets their upper body fall back.  Super Dave

Here, the flyer arches back in a wide curve, bringing their arms overhead.  Acrodicted
