Koala Hug

779

This pose is named after the koala bear because the flyer hangs from the base’s foot in a similar way — holding on tight like a koala.
The flyer is upside down in a vertical position, with one leg bent so that the thigh is perpendicular to the torso, creating a kind of “seat” that rests on the base’s foot.
This would be enough to hold the position, but the flyer also grabs the base’s shin, ankle, or foot for extra support and connection.
It’s usually not entered directly from the ground, but rather from another pose — it’s worth watching some videos to get a feel for the transitions.

The flyer is hanging from the base’s leg, “hugging” it with both arms. Make sure the flyer’s head always stays in front of the base’s knee — this helps maintain balance and stability. The pose looks beautiful when the extended leg points straight up in a vertical line.
