From Handbird to Reverse inside star

54

The rotation from HandBird into Reverse inSide Star is a complex and exciting movement. A similar transition appears in the Butterfly Knife washing machine, where the flyer rotates into Side Star from Side-Orion.
In this sequence, Side-Orion appears only as a brief transitional position. The flyer passes through it without stopping, which makes the movement more dynamic and technically demanding.
If this transition feels challenging, it is helpful to first practice the version that starts from Side-Orion.

The movement begins from a stable Handbird. The base rotates the flyer, who turns simultaneously around a vertical axis while making a quarter turn along the body’s axis, reaching with both hands to grab the base’s far foot.
At the same time, the base reaches around and holds the flyer’s same-side hip with both hands. The pair briefly passes through Side-Orion, without stopping, as the flyer continues rotating onto the base’s foot into Side Star.

There is no pause in this movement, and rushing it will not help. Smooth, continuous motion and precise coordination between base and flyer are essential.
