In the classic original boomerang, the star and the reverse inside star alternate with each other so that the flyer brings her legs down crosswise. However, there are several boomerang variations.
Tip for the base:
How should you angle your foot as the flyer’s hip approaches? In this case: toes in! If the flyer fully rotates their body and arrives almost perpendicular, then it’s not really an issue — the foot can stay neutral. But in all other cases, it’s helpful for the base to know whether to turn the foot inward or outward. And here, turning the toes in provides better connection and stability.

The flyer extends and brings the leg down and across. The base receives the flyer with the opposite foot (toes in) and they arrive at a reverse inside star. From there back to star.
