At first glance, Back Orbit may not look particularly difficult. The individual poses are familiar, but the transitions connecting them are anything but ordinary.
The sequence begins in a Reverse Star, flows through a Reverse Back Bird, continues into Hand-to-Hand Knee Stand, and finally returns to Reverse Star. Rather than relying on the well-known pathways found in many washing machines, Back Orbit explores a collection of less common transitions, giving the entire flow a unique rhythm and character.
That’s exactly what makes this washing machine so enjoyable to learn. It encourages you to step outside the familiar patterns and discover a different way of connecting poses.
And who knows? It might even work beautifully in reverse. I haven’t come across anyone performing it that way yet—but it certainly sounds like an exciting challenge to explore.
