Acroyoga forever

I’m a true acroyoga enthusiast.

From the very first moment I tried it, I was captivated by the harmony of moving together with my partner—the cooperation, the trust, the playfulness. Over the years, not only has my body grown stronger, but a system has also taken shape in my mind, inspired by the variety of movements. This system connects poses, transitions, and sequences, where every movement has its place and is part of a greater whole.

As I explored the sequences and techniques created by fellow acroyogis, I came to realize that I can’t do them all. And I don’t think you can either—and that’s okay! What truly matters is finding those few dozen, or perhaps a few hundred, elements that bring us joy and a sense of accomplishment, the ones we can practice happily and confidently.

Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time doing acroyoga “in my head.” I often think about why something doesn’t work and what simpler or foundational exercise might help me build up to it. If we first master the easier steps, we stand a much better chance of succeeding with the original pose or sequence. I truly believe that progress is safer and more sustainable when we move step by step, minimizing the risk of injury along the way.

This system in my mind has grown into a larger framework, one I’m modeling with the help of some of the best acroyogis in the world, whose knowledge is generously shared on their YouTube channels.
