Pike Throne

188

The flyer sits on the base with extended legs. Her upper body is vertical, her legs are extended, horizontally, splayed.

The pike throne is similar to the straight body throne, but let's look at the position of the base's legs! Not only is the position of the flyer different, but the foot of the base is also completely different!
Looking at the two pictures side by side like this, you can see the difference

Jump up into a pike throne without hands.
The base places its foot against the flyer’s thigh. The flyer jumps up by extending his legs forward. The base follows the movement of the flyer’s thigh with its sole and provides a surface for the flyer to sit on. In this position (when the flyer is already up in the throne) you can see where the feet should be positioned on the ground. Jacob Brown

Hand-Support Variation

From this pose, we often continue with the base giving hand support to the flyer. This is not a new pose, but a variation of this pose.

The The video detail shows the process of how the flyer holds the hand of the base. The flyer keeps her legs extended and spread apart. She stretches her hands forward and brings them closer to the hands of the base. Until it reaches it, the base lowers the flyer. The flyer leans forward and puts weight in her hands. From here you can start throwing, passing, etc…
