From Shoulderstand with ankle holds to Bird

This is a very important foundational transition that you will definitely learn as a beginner.

If you’re the flyer: Since you’re holding the base’s ankles, you can place them in the best position by guiding them to your hips. It’s crucial to keep your body tight and maintain a straight plank position throughout.

If you’re the base: When the transition begins, flex your feet. As soon as you feel the flyer guiding your feet to their hips and shifting their weight onto them, you can assist by slightly bending your legs. Once the flyer has shifted fully onto your feet, you can straighten your legs. There’s not much time to think during this process as it happens quickly, so it’s worth practicing a lot.
